Color Therapy Charts

If you are using color therapy as alternative medicine, it is useful to have a chart or two showing the relationship between different colors and the organs, areas of the body, glands, emotions, associations and musical notes. We have several to choose from. If you'd like to know more about color therapy, please visit TherapyColor.com. If you'd like to know more about the possible medical benefits of color therapy, please visit Color-Medicine.com.

Musical Notes Correspond to Colors

Both light and sound are frequencies. If we could extend the notes of a piano up 49 octaves from middle C, the frequency of C in that octave would be the same as the frequency of the color green. F# would be the same as the color red. The other note frequencies would correspond to the frequencies of the other colors of the rainbow.

Just as the note of middle C is in harmony with the note of C one octave higher, the color green is also in harmony with the note of C since, at the 49th octave above middle C, it is the same frequency. F# is in harmony with red for the same reason. The twelve notes of the octave are displayed in our Color Octaves Chart with their corresponding colors. This chart also indicates the emotions and organs associated with the different colors and musical notes.

Light is an electromagnetic wave. Sound is a pressure wave. At the 49th octave, even though the frequency of a note and a color is the same, the note would not produce a color because of the different type of waves.

Therapeutic and Scientific Color Charts

In reviewing literature from the turn of the 20th century, we found that a large number of researchers were playing with color and sound...literally. At that time, it was popular for dance halls to have a musician come in who had an instrument which was wired to project a certain color on the ceiling or wall when a particular note was played. Some of their devices were 300 AMP monoliths. Their studies were done independently and although there was not complete agreement on which note correlated to which color, most of them did associate red with the note of C. Our research of this subject resulted in our Therapeutic Color Wheel. We also have a Scientific Color Wheel where the musical notes are associated with the color which is the same frequency at the 49th octave. The amazing thing is that the therapeutic colors are exactly opposite from the scientific colors! In the scientific color wheel, the note of C corresponds with green.

The Therapeutic Color Chart is useful to help bring balance to an area of the body. If, by the use of sound therapy, it is determined that a person is low or high in a particular note, they may use the corresponding therapeutic color to help restore balance.

Sometimes it is difficult to determine if an area which scores high indicates an excess or a deficiency. As an illustration, using hair analysis, a person may score extremely high in calcium. That does not necessarily mean that they have an excess of calcium in their body. If further tests indicate a lack of calcium in the body, the calcium in the hair may indicate that the body is not able to absorb it and is excreting it into the hair, thus giving the high score.

Another example is a woman who saw one of our sound therapy practitioners and scored low on DEET, the most common active ingredient in insect repellants. When she had a blood analysis done, the level of DEET in her blood was so high it was off the chart.

Listen to Your Body

It is important to listen to your body. When an individual scores high or low in an area, they can usually tell which color will help restore balance. It may be the color indicated on the Therapeutic Color Chart or it may be the exact opposite color found on the Scientific Color Chart. The right color will make you feel the best. People have an amazing ability to be able to know what their body needs. A simple way to determine which color is right is to look through color therapy glasses. Looking through the color which is correct for you should result in some kind of reaction. This could be emotional or physical. When you find the color your body reacts to, that is probably the one it needs at the time.
